Questions: 1) Do any of you know if the new Mach1 shells are actually molded as LV, MV and HV or is the difference in volume with the liners and possibly footboards ? Reason I ask is there are plenty of local stock of MV in the 130 but no LV. The Tecnica Mach 1 130 was very comfortable boot and I liked it a lot. But you can tell from the material they remove from the liner in the instep, the boots are really meant for high instep feet (minus the LV which is incredibly different instep height compared to the MV). Last February I retired my very old and much loved Atomic Free Ride 120s and bought the Tecnica 130 LV. I'm 6'1", 185 lbs, ski about 40 days a season and am older than dirt. Here is my experience: -The old 120 is the new 130. Basically the same flex. -Lateral stiffness/response is much better with the new boots.
Not to be confused with ski boot descriptions, the LV is the thinnest liner, meaning the most room. I like how my Hawx prime fit. It’s a 2018 model and did take some tweaking to get there. Not sure if any significant changes to the 2022 model. Open to this option as well. Heard a lot of great things about flexibility of the Mach 1. I ended up with the Mach 1 130 LV , the 120 was considerably softer , I tried the 9.8 110 also was the same stiffness to me as the Mach 1 130 but the foot did not feel . In the same boat here (pun intended with a 29.5 mondo), and am loving the Technica Mach 1 LVs so far. I have nightmare feet that are flat, pronate, have a prominent navicular projection, while having a proclivity for stiff flex racer-esque ski boots. The Mach 1 LV's were crippling; I got into them every morning by heating them up but at the end of the day you could hear me whimpering in the parking lot, taking my boots off. They were the 3rd pair of boots and I thought I knew exactly what I wanted so I got them online and paid my local shop to do any modifications.
